Andre Dickens Second Inauguration and Community Impact
Atlanta Turns the Page: Mayor Andre Dickens Sworn In for Second Term
Atlanta officially turns the page Monday afternoon as Andre Dickens is sworn in for his second term as mayor. The formal ceremony takes place at the Georgia State Convocation Center on the campus of Georgia State University, with doors opening at noon and the ceremony beginning promptly at 1 p.m.

The event is expected to draw up to 5,000 spectators, including civic leaders from across the city. Georgia State’s president is set to deliver opening remarks, helping kick off the moment that officially launches Mayor Dickens’ next four years in office.
The inauguration follows a powerful kickoff weekend rooted in service. On Saturday, the mayor led a citywide Day of Service featuring 61 volunteer projects across Atlanta through Atlanta Cares—reinforcing his continued focus on volunteerism, civic engagement, and community connection. Mayor Dickens summed it up best with his inclusive message: “The group project continues.”
From service to celebration, today’s swearing-in signals continuity, commitment, and a collective push forward for the city we love. Atlanta, the work continues—and so does the glow up.
